Healthy Holiday Eggnog

Enjoying eggnog at the holidays is a delicious treat, but it can be very high in sugar and calories. And if you have food allergies or sensitivities, even though it is gluten free, typically eggnog is full of other foods like dairy or eggs that you cannot eat.

Try these healthy eggnog recipes and don’t miss out on a favorite holiday treat!

Healthy Holiday Eggnog

1 banana, mashed
2 cup organic vanilla yogurt
½ cup organic milk
½ teaspoon real vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon rum extract
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Stevia to taste, if desired

Directions:
Mash the banana well.
Put the other ingredients in a blender and add the banana. Blend until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Top with some additional cinnamon or nutmeg if desired and enjoy!

 

Dairy free Holiday Eggnog

2 cups coconut milk (or any milk substitute you prefer: Almond, Cashew, Soy, Rice, Ripple (pea based milk)
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon rum extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 ½ Tablespoons maple syrup

Directions:
Place all ingredients into a blender in the order listed and blend until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
