Water is essential, but sometimes it can feel boring. Adding natural flavors makes it more enjoyable and helps you stay hydrated all day. Below are five simple ways to make healthy flavored water. Before we dive into the recipes, here’s a quick note:

  1. Whole Fruit for healthy flavored water Add any type of fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, lemons, etc. Crush the fruit, add to a pitcher or glass of water & allow to infuse the water for 4 hours or more
  2. Veggies for refreshing healthy flavored water Add cucumbers, celery, tomato, etc. Add slices to water, chill and allow to infuse for at least 4 hours.
  3. Herbs and Spices to enhance healthy flavored water Add mint, parsley, cinnamon sticks, lavender, etc. Chop up leaves, add lavender or cinnamon sticks whole then chill and allow to infuse 4 or more hours.
  4. Tea Add a bag or 2 of tea to hot water, steep for 20 minutes, chill or pour over ice.
  5. Mix it Up Try one or more of these recipes:

Use 5 cups of water and 1 cup of ice cubes. In a large pitcher, place the desired combination of fruit or herbs. Add ice and fill container with water.

Strawberry Basil and Lime

  • 1/2 cup strawberries stemmed and sliced, fresh or frozen
  • 5 large fresh basil leaves torn
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced

Blueberry Lemon and Rosemary

  • 1/2 pint blueberries
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 4 sprigs fresh rosemary

Pineapple Coconut and Lime

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup coconut chunks, fresh or frozen
  • 1 lime thinly sliced

Honeydew Cucumber and Mint

  • 1/2 cup honeydew cubes
  • 1 cucumber thinly sliced
  • 10 fresh mint leaves torn
